The USA is situated in the southern part of North America. Its neighbors are Canada in the north, Mexico in the south and Russia in Alaska. It covers the area of nearly 10 million square kilometers. It is a federal republic which contains 50 states. For example: Colorado, Oregon, California, Florida, Texas and the last ones were Alaska and Hawaii. The capital city is Washington D.C.
There is seat of president in the White House, next the Capital House – seat of government, lots of museums and the highest criminality. Other important cities are: New York with Manhattan, Statue of Liberty given by France and the financial center Wall Street, next Los Angeles with Hollywood, San Francisco with Arnold Schwarzenegger. In head of each state is governor, but in head of all states is president. Right now it is George Bush who was reelected this year.
Central plains are bounded by the Rocky Mountains and the Coastal Mountains in the west and the Appalachian Mountains in the east. The highest mountain in the USA is Mt. McKinley in the Alaska Range (6 194 m).
The largest rivers are the Mississippi and the Missouri. It is the third longest river system in the world. Niagara Falls and the five Great Lakes - Lakes Ontario, Erie, Huron, Michigan and Superior are situated on the southeastern Canadian border. Lake Superior is the second largest lake in the world. The USA is rinsed by Atlantic Ocean and Pacific Ocean.
The USA has many different kinds of landscape and climate. The differences across continental US are extreme. Death Valley in California is about the hottest place on earth in summer. California, Arizona, New Mexico and Florida belong among the so-called Sun Belt States.
There are many national parks in the USA, visited by millions of people. The first National Park was Yellowstone, founded in 1872, in the state of Wyoming. Another famous park is the Grand Canyon of the Colorado River in the state of Arizona.
The USA is a beautiful country and I would like to visit it but I will never have money for traveling there.
